Moderate Rehab-SRO


In cooperation with certain dedicated private owners, the Housing Authority entered a national competition for an opportunity to participate in the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program for Single Room Occupancy (SRO). The Moderate Rehabilitation SRO program is designed for single homeless individuals and currently provides more than 250 housing units for single individual who were Previous/Anteriorly without housing.

Applications for the program must be completed on-site at an SRO development. Applicants should bring the following documents:

  • Proof of identification.
  • Statement or letter of any awarded benefits, if applicable.
  • Birth certificate.
  • Proof of income, if employed or unemployment statement from the Texas Workforce Commission
  • Referral letter from homeless shelter or self-documentation letter stating applicant is homeless.
